Dr. Curry has been the senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Farmington, NM for the past nine years. He was born in Lubbock, but he grew up living in various communities on the South Plains. His father was a football coach in Floydada, Big Spring, Iran and Slaton. In 1982 He graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.A. Degree in History and Spanish minor. He received a Master of Divinity degree at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University in May 1986 and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California in 1996. His dissertation was titled, Leading United Methodist Churches to Growth.

Dr. Curry is married and has four children. His wife is a graduate of both Monterey High School and Texas Tech University. She has been a licensed physical therapist since 1981.
