Intern for Children's Ministry
Emily Espinoza is an intern for children’s ministry. She has been working at FUMC since May 2013 first as nursery worker following her high school graduation. She for worked Parent’s Day Out from the summer of 2015 until the fall. She began working as the Children’s Ministry Intern in the fall of 2015.
She was born in Colorado Springs, CO, and lived there the first 18 months of her life then moved to Red Raider Country where she’s lived her whole life. She attended Lubbock Monterey High and graduated in May 2013, and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in human sciences; with concentrations in human development and family studies, addictive disorders and recovery studies, and Spanish.
Emily loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking, fly fishing, and long-distance running. She also loves watching movies and crime shows on Netflix.
Her parents are Kelly and Leonard Espinoza. She has two younger (taller) sisters, Erin and Lilly. Her mom’s family grew up in this church and continue to serve FUMC well.
Emily’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day and her paternal grandfather jokingly wanted her mom to name her Valentina. Emily says she is really glad she didn’t.
She was on the Texas Tech Drumline for her first three years attending Tech. Emily loves Mexican food, and says she could honestly live off of tortillas and salsa. She’s also a huge Denver Broncos fan, and is passionate about music. She can play the oboe, ukulele, various percussion instruments, and is working on the guitar
