Join us for a special day of outreach in partnership with
the congregation of Asbury UMC.
 
The Heart of Lubbock neighborhood stretches from 19th St. to 34th and from Ave. Q to University. It surrounds Dupre Elementary and Asbury United Methodist Church. Families in this vibrant multicultural area face significant spiritual and economic challenges.
 
We are honored to partner with the growing congregation of Asbury UMC to support loving Christian outreach in this community.
 
WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Heart of Lubbock Schedule of Events:
 
8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.     Orientation for Morning Work Teams
                                         Location: Asbury UMC, 2005 Ave. T
                                         Light breakfast provided.
 
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.    Morning Teams at Work Sites
                                          Location: Various
                                          Construction materials & cold drinks provided.
 
12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.    Lunch for Morning & Afternoon Teams
                                          Location: Asbury UMC, 2005 Ave. T
                                         There will be a brief orientation for the afternoon teams during this time.
 
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.     Afternoon Teams at Work Sites
                                         Location: Various
                                         Construction materials & cold drinks provided.
 
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.    Cookout & Festival in the Park
                                        Location: Carlisle Park, X & 26th
                                        FUMC & Asbury UMC will provide a free hotdog cookout & games for
                                       children of all ages!                      
 
7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.    Festival of Worship in the Park
                                        Location: Carlisle Park, X & 26th
                                        A special worship service led by the Pastors of FUMC & Asbury UMC.
                                      Communion will be served. Music provided by the FUMC Chancel choir &
                                      a joint FUMC/Asbury praise team.                                                        
 
Notes for volunteers:
 
  1. • Maps of all event locations will provided for all volunteers.

  2. • Parking is limited at all event sites. Please carpool if possible. Further parking instructions will be provided prior to the event.
