FUMC Chancel Choir
is one of the finest church
choirs in the United States. The
choir sings every Sunday at the 10:50 a.m. worship
service and regularly participates in concerts.
The choir has toured all over the world, singing
in Italy, Norway, the UK, the Far East and New
Zealand. In June, 2010, the Chancel Choir will be
singing in Paris, France.
The choir meets to rehearse
on Wednesday evenings from 7:15 p.m. -
9:00 p.m. Emphasis is placed both on
the choir singing to the best achievable
standard, and also on building a worshipping and
singing community of Christian friends,
creating a unique and very rewarding experience.
Membership of the Chancel
Choir is for adults aged 18 and above and is by
audition. If you have choir experience at High
School level or above and are interested in
joining the choir, please contact Director of
Music, Christopher Betts
On Saturday December 5, 2009, FUMC Chancel Choir will
join the Lubbock Chorale and the Lubbock Symphony
Orchestra in a Christmas Pops concert at FUMC. Tickets are available through the
Lubbock Symphony Office.
This is the second collaboration this semester between
the three groups, who performed Beethoven's Ninth
Symphony in September, 2009
