2010, 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 20,
2010, 1:30 p.m.
CHILDREN
1st-6th grade:
Saturday, November 20,
2010, 11:00 a.m.
Auditions are held at
FUMC Choir Room
Audition requirements
Those auditioning
should come prepared to sing 16 measures of a song that they have
already learnt, preferably from a Musical. An accompanist will be
provided. Please bring a copy
of the sheet music for the accompanist. Pre-recorded
accompaniment may not be used.
Those auditioning
will also be asked to participate in a simple dance audition. The dance moves
will be taught at the audition. Those who are being considered for principal dancers will be taught and auditioned with a more complex
routine.
Following the
singing and dancing audition, those who are being considered for lead roles may be asked to
remain for further audition. There will most likely be call-backs for lead
roles a few days following the main audition dates.
It is understood
that those auditioning may be stronger and weaker in various areas (singing, acting,
dancing), but they will still be asked to participate in all parts of the
audition.
Rehearsal Schedule
Details of
rehearsal schedule will be available at the auditions. We will begin
rehearsing in the first week of January 2010. Generally, the full cast is
only required to rehearse on Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and Sunday
afternoons, until the final week (see below). Lead actors will be expected
to come to weeknight rehearsals as necessary. Special groups, such as
dancers, will likely be scheduled for a rehearsal on one weeknight each week.
In the final week before the performances, the full cast rehearses every
evening. Special consideration is given to children, so that they are not
asked to remain at rehearsal too late on school nights.
