TRADITIONAL WORSHIP SERVICES AT FUMC

  8:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m.

First United Methodist Church offers two traditional worship services every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

The services are led by Senior Pastor, Dr. Jay Horton, and several of the other ministers on our staff.  The services include scripture, prayer, singing of well-loved hymns, a time for children, baptisms, and a sermon by Dr. Horton.  Children's church is held each Sunday during the 10:50 a.m. worship except on Communion Sundays.

On the first Sunday of the month we join in Holy Communion.

At the 8:30 a.m. service, singing is led on alternate weeks by the Sanctuary Choir, a group of about forty adults.

On one Sunday each month our three children’s choirs (FUMC Choir Boys, FUMC Choir Girls and FUMC Chapel Choir) and our youth choir (FUMC Wesley Singers) fill the choir loft.  On other Sundays we feature ensembles from the Chancel Choir.

Chancel Choir At the 10:50 a.m. service, singing is led by our exceptional Chancel Choir, a group of ninety people that has toured all over the world.  This choir is one of the finest church choirs in the country.

Our traditional services also feature music by our hand bell groups, vocal soloists, a brass ensemble and other instrumental musicians; and our organist leads hymn singing on the wonderful Forrest Memorial Pipe Organ.    Handbell Musicians

Our services offer great opportunities to experience the presence of God, meet the members of our church and hear about our many ministries. Our services are for all ages and families are encouraged to come and worship together. A nursery is provided.
