In December of 2013, First Methodist Lubbock began a partnership with Bayless Elementary in Lubbock to provide resources, mentors, and prayers to some of the most disadvantaged kids in the Lubbock Independent School District.

There are many avenues available for volunteering at Bayless at 58th and Avenue U. Below, you will find many on-going outreach projects, as well as, one time events. Both are a great way to put your faith into action!

       KiDs Beach Club

This is an innovative ministry with 3rd-5th grade students to mobilize FUMC to take the message of Christ into the heart of Bayless.  Beach Club will meet at Bayless on Thursdays at 3:20 to 4:20 in the school gym during the school year. Scripture is incorporated into the program and reinforces the character counts program taught at the school.

The curriculum and activities are provided by KiDs Beach Club. Email Leslie Moss for more information and to volunteer.

Easter Egg Hunt

Every Easter FUMC has a  combined Easter Egg Hunt with Bayless Elementary. This is an amazing opportunity to meet the children, families and teachers at Bayless. The impressive numbers to continue into the future are: 20,000 Easter Eggs, 3,000 hotdogs, over 1,000 children, and 104 FUMC volunteers.
