Assistant Director of Traditional Music Ministries and Assistant Organist, firstname.lastname@example.org
In addition to serving as the Assistant Director of Traditional Music Ministries and Assistant Organist, I am currently reading for an MM in Choral Conducting at Texas Tech University, where I hold a Teaching Assistantship with the Faculty and with the Lubbock Chorale.
Following four formative years singing as a treble in the choir of Westminster Abbey, my early musical education continued at Trinity School Shirley Park, where I sang with the Trinity Boys Choir as a music scholar. My final year I was awarded both a Steinway and Sons Piano Scholarship, affording lessons with Vanessa Latarche, Chair of Keyboard at the Royal College of Music, and the title of School Organist providing the opportunity to accompany the choir in services and concerts within the UK and further afield.
Undergraduate study followed at Robinson College, Cambridge and was sponsored by the Basil Shone Organ Scholarship, which facilitated the accompanying and conducting of regular services in the college chapel as well as providing numerous touring opportunities. Whilst at Cambridge, I was a member of the University Chamber Choir; directed the college’s close-harmony ensemble; was répétiteur to Cambridgeshire Choral Society; and, in my final year, was Assistant Organist at St Mary the Less.
Whilst being generously accommodated in Lubbock’s more agreeable climate by the Smitherman family, I am greatly looking forward to learning from and contributing to the ministry here at FUMC.
