Rev. Mike Schafer from the Northwest Texas Conference Office was our guest at the October 4 Church Council Meeting. Primarily, Rev. Schafer talked about the process by which churches can move through the discernment process that might lead to a church-wide vote. Such a vote would be to determine whether our church would choose to disaffiliate from The United Methodist Church or not. Rev. Schafer also gave a brief overview of the events that have brought us to this point from his perspective. This was followed by a question and answer session.
