This concert commemorating the Feast of All Saints serves as a prayer for the repose of the souls of the dead as well as a celebration of the saints in heaven. The FUMC Chancel Choir, chamber orchestra, and organ presents Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, Op. 9. Published in 1947, this work masterfully blends the timeless melodies of Gregorian chant with the luscious harmonies of French impressionism and the compositional discipline of the neoclassical movement.
